We are a vibrant youth theatre company creating quality theatre experiences with young people in the Meath area. Established in 2017, in partnership with the Solstice Arts Centre, we are a volunteer-led youth theatre offering theatre workshops for our members. We rehearse weekly in Dunshaughlin on Mondays and Navan on Tuesdays.

Act Out Youth Theatre delivers quality creative experiences that promote artistic, personal and social development for young people in Meath. We deliver formative experiences through a varied programme. The company is guided by the young people and engages members as active participants in the running of the youth theatre. AOYT is open to all young people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, national origin, sexual orientation, ability or faith.

Under the artistic direction of Anthony Kinahan, Act Out Youth Theatre sets out:

• To provide an annual programme of activities including weekly youth theatre workshops and performance opportunities that respond to the needs and interests of the young people

• To ensure that the youth theatre programme is accessible to all in Meath

• To enable members to develop artistic skills as well as a range of social and personal competencies through the annual programme of activities

• To involve young people as active participants in the running of the youth theatre

• To seek out new and innovative theatre opportunities, ensuring that all activities are set at the appropriate level for the participants

• To provide young people with opportunities to progress within the youth theatre

• To advance the education of participants within the framework of youth theatre

• To ensure our activities are of benefit to the local community and our work reflects local issues and community needs

• To benefit the local community by the advancement of the arts, culture and heritage

• To foster partnerships and develop relationships with organisations which can support youth theatre at the Solstice.

• Comprehensive performance training sessions
